1925 Sterling Silver & Enamel Football Medal – Birmingham Corporation Works League (Fattorini)

A beautifully preserved piece of interwar British social and sports history.

This solid sterling silver watch fob medal, crafted by renowned makers Fattorini & Sons, was awarded to a Division 1 Champion during the 1925–26 football season in the highly competitive Birmingham Corporation Employees Amateur Football League (B.C.E.A.F.L.).

During the 1920s, municipal "Works Leagues" were the beating heart of working-class football. This medal represents the peak of internal competition among the thousands of drivers, conductors, mechanics, and utility workers employed by the Birmingham city authority.

An exceptional, beautifully heavy Edwardian sterling silver watch chain fob medal, fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1910. This piece bears the clear maker's mark "WHH" for William Hair Haseler—the celebrated Birmingham silversmith famous for his partnership with Liberty & Co., famously executing their iconic Cymric silver and Tudric pewter lines.
