This badge represents one of the most heavily engaged regional regiments of the Great War. Raising 35 battalions, the West Yorkshires saw thousands of local men from Leeds, Bradford, and surrounding towns enter the frontline—most famously serving in the Leeds Rifles and the tragic Bradford Pals at the Battle of the Somme.
